Reid Trummel retired from a career as a U.S. Army officer in 2003, serving as a Senior Army Aviator in combat aviation units including Air Cavalry, Assault Helicopter and Attack Helicopter, and later as a Foreign Area Officer with multiple regional qualifications and assignments in U.S. embassies in Djibouti, Senegal, Indonesia and Tunisia. As a British car enthusiast since college days, for over 40 years he has continually taken leadership roles in clubs and events from national to local levels, often to reverse organizational and participatory decline and achieving record membership and attendance numbers. He has 30+ years cumulative experience editing and publishing award-winning national car club publications. For 20 years he has been a contributor to Sports Car Market magazine, and he has also authored a buyer’s guidebook for Austin-Healeys. His activities in the British car community have included founding a British car repair shop in Vancouver, Washington. He currently owns five vintage British cars and makes his home in Portland, Oregon, where he is active in supporting veterans through leadership roles in several veterans’ organizations including the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans.
